D-Wave Quantum Inc. (NYSE:QBTS) shares declined 9% following its second-quarter earnings report, despite a 1,120% surge in first-half 2026 bookings to $35.5 million. The company attributed the booking growth to new agreements with Florida University and a Fortune 100 firm.
QBTS reported $3.1 million in Q2 revenue, with 62% derived from commercial customers. Remaining performance obligations (RPOs) also jumped 668%, signaling potential future revenue. Despite these gains, the stock remains down 24% year-to-date, mirroring its 24% rise over the past year.
Analysts noted the market’s shifting focus toward fundamentals, contrasting with prior indifference to earnings for speculative stocks like QBTS.
