The central bank lifts its benchmark rate to 3.75% in a 6-1 vote, aligning with recent ECB policy moves.

The Czech National Bank increased its key interest rate by 25 basis points to 3.75%, matching the European Central Bank’s recent tightening step. The decision was supported by six of seven Bank Board members, with one dissenting vote favoring unchanged rates.

The move follows a period of elevated inflation and aligns with broader regional monetary policy shifts. The central bank had previously signaled potential rate adjustments amid persistent price pressures and currency volatility.

Markets had largely priced in the hike, though the unanimous support for further tightening may influence short-term expectations for additional increases.
