Carriage Services reported first-quarter revenue of $106.1 million, nearly unchanged from the prior year, as a 5.8% decline in funeral at-need volume offset gains in cemetery operations and pre-need sales. The company cited a tough comparison to 2025, when a strong flu season boosted results into early spring.

Adjusted consolidated EBITDA rose 2.4% to $33.8 million, with margins expanding to 31.8%. Cemetery performance and pre-need funeral sales drove profitability improvements despite lower funeral volume. The company maintained its full-year 2026 guidance and indicated a robust acquisition pipeline, with one deal expected to close soon.

Management described the quarter as steady execution amid challenging conditions, noting normalization in funeral volume trends when combining at-need and pre-need segments.
