Crux, a US-based energy financing firm, has completed a $215m tax equity investment for the Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center in Ohio. The 240MW project, developed by Invenergy, is under construction and aims to start commercial operations in 2027. The financing was structured through Crux Capital Securities to capitalize on federal investment tax credits.

The project will supply electricity to the regional grid and generate clean energy credits for a third-party offtaker. It is expected to create 300 construction jobs and drive over $230m in local economic investment over its lifespan. The deal reflects growing confidence in utility-scale solar projects amid rising energy demand.

Invenergy highlighted the partnership as a commitment to advancing energy infrastructure, supporting economic growth, and strengthening Ohio’s energy supply. The investment underscores the role of tax equity financing in accelerating large-scale renewable energy deployment.
