Cracker Barrel announced Julie Masino will step down as CEO on August 10 after nearly three years in the role. She will remain in an advisory capacity until October 9. The departure follows backlash over a 2025 logo modernization that drew criticism from conservatives, including former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The company reverted to its original logo after the backlash led to a decline in store traffic and forced a downward revision of annual revenue forecasts. Shares fell 52% last year but have since doubled in 2026. Cracker Barrel recently reported exceeding core profit expectations for fiscal 2026 after divesting part of its Maple Street Biscuit business.

David Deno, former CEO of Bloomin’ Brands, will succeed Masino. Deno has also held senior roles at Best Buy and Yum Brands. Cracker Barrel shares dropped 4% following the announcement.
