Costco reported a 10.7% year-over-year increase in membership fee income to $1.37 billion in its third quarter 2026 earnings. U.S. and Canada renewal rates reached 92.2%, while global renewals held at 89.7%, underscoring strong customer loyalty.

Despite robust financial performance, Costco ranked among retailers most cited for out-of-stock products in the latest Stockout Stigma Index by supply-chain software firm DOSS. The issue has become a top frustration for members, overshadowing other operational challenges like checkout lines.

The company’s Kirkland Signature private label and exclusive products continue to drive membership growth, but inventory inconsistencies may test long-term satisfaction.
