Copper Markets US secures regulatory clearance to offer custody, staking, and OTC services to institutional clients in the US market.

Copper’s US arm, Copper Markets (US) Inc., has been approved as a broker-dealer by the SEC and accepted as a FINRA member, enabling it to expand its institutional services. The approval, effective August 7, allows the firm to operate as a qualified custodian under SEC rules, holding client assets in customer accounts.

The move follows growing demand for regulated digital asset infrastructure in the US, where institutional players seek compliant custody and trading solutions. Copper’s US entity will provide staking, financing, and over-the-counter services, alongside access to its ClearLoop Network for collateral management.

The expansion positions Copper to compete with established custodians in the US, addressing regulatory concerns around crypto asset security and compliance. No immediate market reaction was reported following the announcement.
