The protocol unveils its largest development program to date, targeting onchain credit for financial institutions.
Compound Foundation announced a $52 million DAO-approved program to expand institutional decentralized finance (DeFi) adoption. The initiative marks the protocol’s largest development effort, focusing on native real-world asset (RWA) support and capital efficiency tools for financial institutions.
The program follows Compound’s $480 billion in cumulative deposit and borrowing volume since its 2018 launch. New leadership, including Executive Director Aaron Schnarch, will oversee product development to integrate onchain lending services for institutional clients.
The foundation aims to enhance protocol infrastructure, enabling seamless embedding of DeFi lending into traditional financial workflows.
