New cash-settled contracts offer leveraged exposure to major stocks without owning shares or trading options.
CME Group will introduce single-stock futures on Monday, targeting retail investors with leveraged exposure to over 50 large U.S. companies. The cash-settled contracts track closing prices, eliminating the need to hold underlying shares or trade options.
The launch follows growing demand for cost-efficient derivatives products. Single-stock futures typically require lower margin than options and provide direct exposure to equity movements. CME’s move competes with existing offerings from smaller exchanges.
No immediate market reaction was reported ahead of the launch.
