US data center electricity demand may double by 2035, positioning clean energy firm Clearway Energy for expansion with $3 billion in planned investments.
Clearway Energy, a major US clean power producer, stands to benefit from a projected 100 GW increase in data center electricity demand by 2035. This surge would more than double the current 75.8 GW demand from US data centers.
The company operates 13.6 GW of power generation capacity across wind, solar, battery storage, and gas-fired assets. Clearway sells power under long-term, fixed-rate PPAs, ensuring stable cash flow and a near 5% dividend yield. It plans to deploy over $3 billion in capital from 2026 to 2029 for wind repowering projects and other clean energy assets.
Clearway’s solid balance sheet and existing infrastructure position it to capitalize on rising power demand, though investor attention remains limited despite its growth potential.
