North Korea-affiliated hackers were responsible for $2 billion in crypto losses in 2025, up 51% from 2024. In April alone, thefts linked to the regime exceeded $578 million, targeting platforms like Kelp DAO and Drift Protocol.
The collaboration follows a September operation where Seoul police dismantled a hacking group that stole $30 million. South Korea recently launched a task force to combat crypto-based money laundering.
