Carvana shares are poised for a 10% weekly drop, the steepest since March, as a federal probe into billionaire Mark Walter rattles investors. The stock fell over 7% Tuesday, extending Monday’s losses, before a modest midweek rebound failed to offset the decline.

The investigation centers on whether Walter concealed financial relationships while routing $20 billion through insurance companies he controls. Walter indirectly holds an 8% stake in Carvana via CVAN Holdings, per the company’s proxy filing. Insider sales this week—including a director’s $2.1 million share disposal at $74—may have amplified pressure.

Walter, also CEO of Guggenheim Partners and owner of the LA Dodgers and Lakers, recently sold the basketball franchise for $12.5 billion amid the probe. The scrutiny raises questions about potential fallout for his Carvana holdings.
