Canal+ reports strong first-half earnings driven by MultiChoice integration, with adjusted EBIT up 68% to €433 million.
Canal+ posted a 40% year-over-year rise in first-half revenue to €4.3 billion, primarily due to the acquisition of MultiChoice. Like-for-like revenue, excluding MultiChoice, grew 1.4%. Adjusted EBIT before exceptional items surged 68% to €433 million, while free cash flow reached €414 million.
The company attributed the gains to early cost-savings measures and the FIFA World Cup, which boosted subscriber growth. Subscribers totaled over 41 million, up 8% from a year earlier. MultiChoice’s subscriber base remained flat year-over-year, an improvement from prior declines.
Management confirmed full-year financial targets remain on track but cautioned that second-half performance may moderate due to one-off tailwinds.
