Baron Opportunity Fund’s Institutional Shares surged 27.07% in Q2 2026, outpacing the Russell 3000 Growth Index’s 17.05% and the S&P 500’s 15.20%. The fund’s first-half gain of 15.79% also exceeded benchmarks, fueled by AI-related growth despite geopolitical and inflation concerns.

The rally was led by a select group of Information Technology stocks, with the Magnificent Seven contributing significantly to earnings. Growth stocks rebounded, surpassing value stocks, though they still trailed year-to-date performance. The fund highlighted Broadcom (AVGO) as a key holding, citing strong demand for AI compute and measurable economic benefits from AI adoption.
