Adjusted EBITDA surged 20% to $23.5 million as specialty products drove 80% of gross profit amid soft housing demand.

BlueLinx reported first-quarter revenue of $731 million, up 3% year over year, while adjusted EBITDA climbed about 20% to $23.5 million. The gains were fueled by specialty product growth, contributions from Disdero Lumber, and stronger structural margins.

Specialty products accounted for 70% of net sales and 80% of gross profit, with engineered wood and siding leading the expansion. The company’s adjusted EBITDA margin reached 3.2%, though management warned of muted expectations for 2026 due to weak housing demand and pricing competition.

CEO Shyam Reddy noted the company’s ability to navigate market headwinds but cautioned that year-over-year EBITDA improvement is unlikely to persist through 2026.
