Cash App begins phased rollout of USDC stablecoin payments, reaching all users by week’s end amid CEO Jack Dorsey’s strategic shift.

Block’s Cash App has activated USDC stablecoin payments for 25% of its nearly 60 million users, with full availability expected by the end of the week. The feature supports multiple blockchains, including Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum, but excludes New York and sponsored accounts due to regulatory constraints.

The move represents a significant pivot for CEO Jack Dorsey, a long-time bitcoin advocate, who has now embraced stablecoins despite prior reservations. Transaction limits and irreversible transfers are among the safeguards implemented for the new payment rail.

The rollout underscores growing demand for stablecoin integration in mainstream financial apps, though Block has not commented on the development.
