iShares Bitcoin Trust surpasses $47 billion in assets under management amid Bitcoin’s recovery from its October peak.
The iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has amassed $47 billion in assets under management, making it the largest spot Bitcoin ETF globally. The fund, managed by BlackRock, offers institutional and retail investors exposure to Bitcoin without direct crypto wallet ownership, benefiting from tight bid-ask spreads and high liquidity.
Bitcoin, which reached an all-time high of over $126,000 last October, now trades at approximately $64,000. The decline followed a market cooldown driven by geopolitical tensions, inflation concerns, and stalled crypto legislation. Despite the pullback, analysts view the current price as a potential entry point for long-term investors.
BlackRock integrates IBIT into its institutional portfolios and wealth management platforms, facilitating broader adoption among traditional investors. The ETF’s scale and liquidity position it as a preferred vehicle for Bitcoin exposure in the current market environment.
