BJ’s Wholesale Club reported record Q1 2026 membership fee income of $132 million, driven by strong acquisition and higher-tier sign-ups. Comparable gallon growth in its gas business accelerated to over 10% in March and April as consumers sought price relief amid rising fuel costs.

Merchandise comparable sales grew 1.5%, supported by perishables and grocery execution despite deflationary pressure from egg prices. Strategic price investments, funded by tariff refunds, contributed to roughly 0.5 points of retail price deflation.

The company maintained full-year guidance, expecting comparable club sales (excluding gas) of 2% to 3% and adjusted EPS between $4.40 and $4.60. Expansion plans include 12 new clubs this year, with a similar pace targeted through 2028.
