Arthur Hayes states MicroStrategy’s financial model collapses due to negative Bitcoin price momentum, pressuring Saylor’s strategy.
BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes said MicroStrategy’s business model has collapsed as Bitcoin’s price growth slowdown turned its second derivative negative. The shift forces CEO Michael Saylor to choose between issuing more shares, selling BTC, or halting dividends, according to Hayes.
MicroStrategy, known for its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation, has traded at a premium due to its crypto exposure. Hayes argued the premium is unjustified, as direct Bitcoin ETF investments like IBIT offer cleaner exposure without reliance on a single executive’s control.
Hayes suggested the strategy’s viability hinges on maintaining the premium, which he believes will disappear as market dynamics shift.
