Corporate holders Strategy and Metaplanet reaffirm BTC’s 21 million cap as global M2 money supply hits $100 trillion.
Two of Bitcoin’s largest corporate holders, Strategy and Metaplanet, are reinforcing their long-term thesis on BTC’s fixed supply of 21 million coins, despite recent price volatility. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich highlighted the $100 trillion global M2 money supply as a bullish tailwind, arguing that Bitcoin’s scarcity contrasts with infinite fiat expansion.
BTC has nearly halved to $63,500 over the past year, even as liquidity surged. The decoupling mirrors prior cycles where Bitcoin’s price temporarily diverged from macroeconomic trends. Strategy’s Michael Saylor framed Bitcoin as “digital monetary energy,” emphasizing its immutable supply as a hedge against inflation.
Strategy holds 840,447 BTC, underscoring its conviction in the asset’s long-term value. The firms’ stance aligns with a broader narrative that Bitcoin’s scarcity will drive adoption as fiat money supply grows.
