Crypto markets show muted volatility after U.S. CPI data matched forecasts, with Bitcoin holding steady and select altcoins outperforming.

Bitcoin traded near $64,000, up 0.30% since midnight UTC, as markets digested Wednesday’s U.S. inflation report. The broader crypto market cap declined 0.54% to $2.18 trillion over the past 24 hours, reflecting subdued trading activity.

July’s CPI rose 3.4% year-over-year, in line with expectations, while core inflation eased to 2.5% from 2.6%. Futures markets saw 24-hour volume climb 6% to $147 billion, though open interest remained flat at $116 billion. XRP futures open interest reached 2.67 billion tokens, its highest level in months.

Altcoins Monero (XMR) and Hyperliquid (HYPE) outperformed, rising 3.2% and 2.7% respectively. U.S. equity futures showed modest gains, with S&P 500 futures up 0.13% and Nasdaq 100 futures little changed.
