BTC market cap falls 50% from 2024 highs, now $1.287 trillion, with analysts projecting a 5-10 year rebound to prior rankings.
Bitcoin has fallen to 15th place among global assets by market capitalization, down from 5th in April 2025. Its market cap now stands at $1.287 trillion, a 50% decline from its October 2024 peak of $1.86 trillion and 25% below its value a year ago.
The cryptocurrency’s slide follows a prolonged bear market, with BTC dropping ten places since mid-2025. At its peak, Bitcoin surpassed Alphabet, Amazon, and silver, but its current valuation trails major tech and commodity assets.
Analysts suggest a full recovery to its former ranking could take 5-10 years, despite estimates that the bear market is nearly 70% complete. No immediate rebound is expected in the near term.
