A sweeping Bitcoin security review identified 4,962 potential issues, including 720 high- or critical-level risks, amid rising wallet exploits.

A Bitcoin security audit campaign revealed 4,962 potential vulnerabilities across 390 projects within its first 29.8 hours of operation. Of these, 720 issues were classified as high- or critical-level risks, with 21.4% of findings already reproduced by researchers.

The audit follows a recent Coldcard hardware wallet hack, which resulted in over $100 million in Bitcoin thefts. At least 15 attackers exploited the Coldcard vulnerability, according to security analysts, highlighting growing concerns over cryptocurrency security.

The findings underscore heightened risks in digital asset storage and project infrastructure as adoption expands.
