Bitcoin futures trading volume on Binance reached $57.82 billion this week, nearly eight times higher than spot volume, which stood at $6.08 billion. The futures-to-spot ratio hit a record 7.82, reflecting a shift toward leveraged and short-term trading strategies amid stagnant spot demand.

Spot trading activity has declined consistently since June, with BTC/USD trading in a narrow range above $60,000 for two months. Retail investor interest has waned, with capital shifting toward AI stocks and other assets. Despite the drop in overall demand, futures volume continues to grow, driven by traders seeking leverage and risk management tools.

Bitcoin remains near $64,000, but the lack of volatility has dampened spot market participation. Earlier retests of the $60,000 level saw reduced onchain realized losses compared to February’s sharp decline.
