Bitcoin slips to $63,600 amid US-Iran tensions
Bitcoin fell below $64,000 after the US launched airstrikes on Iran. The cryptocurrency slipped to $63,600, extending Thursday’s nearly 1.4% slide from $65,000.
Asian equity markets also declined, with Japan’s Nikkei falling nearly 3% and Australia’s ASX 200 slipping by 0.5%.
The US airstrikes hit five bridges in Iran’s Hormozgan province and a maritime control tower. Despite the geopolitical tensions, WTI oil futures held steady at around $79 per barrel.
