Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY) founder and Chairman Emeritus Richard Schulze sold 900,000 shares for $74 million on July 13-14, 2026, according to an SEC filing. The transaction was executed at a weighted average price of $82.21 per share, below the July 14 market close of $83.98.

The sale was conducted under a Rule 10b5-1 plan adopted June 12, 2026, and reduced Schulze’s indirect holdings by 7%. Best Buy’s stock has delivered an 18% total return over the past 12 months, providing context for the exit price.

Post-sale, Schulze retains an indirect interest in 11.6 million shares, representing 6% of outstanding shares and valued at $976.89 million as of July 14, 2026.
