Becton, Dickinson (BDX) reported second-quarter earnings that exceeded analyst expectations, with adjusted earnings per share of $3.25, above the $3.10 consensus. Revenue reached $5.1 billion, up 4.5% year-over-year, driven by strength in its medical and life sciences segments.

The company also raised its full-year guidance, now projecting adjusted EPS of $12.60 to $12.80, compared to the prior range of $12.40 to $12.60. Last year’s Q2 adjusted EPS was $3.05, with revenue at $4.9 billion, marking continued growth.

Shares of BDX climbed in premarket trading following the announcement, reflecting investor optimism about the company’s outlook.
