Ron Baron’s firm increases its SpaceX holdings to $25 billion, reinforcing confidence amid a $2 trillion valuation.
Baron Capital purchased an additional $1 billion of SpaceX shares during its initial public offering, raising its total stake to approximately $25 billion. The move reflects the firm’s long-term commitment to Elon Musk’s aerospace company, which recently achieved a $2 trillion valuation.
Baron first invested in SpaceX in 2017 when the company was valued below $22 billion. Since then, the firm has participated in 27 funding rounds, with SpaceX now representing 33% of assets in the $10.4 billion Baron Partners Fund.
Baron stated the purchase was aimed at maintaining his firm’s ownership percentage, emphasizing his focus on long-term investment rather than short-term trading.
