The Italian food group will add production and packaging lines in New York to meet rising US demand for pasta products.
Barilla will spend $145m in the first phase of a two-part expansion at its Avon, New York pasta factory. The project includes a 52,000-square-foot production building, one new production line, and three packaging lines, with completion targeted for March 2028.
The Avon site opened in 2007 after a $75m initial investment and currently employs around 145 workers. The latest expansion is expected to create over 90 additional jobs once both phases are finished.
Barilla cited growing US demand as the driver for the capacity increase. The company also operates a pasta manufacturing facility in Iowa for the US market.
