Barclays appoints Mike Joo from Bank of America and elevates Adeel Khan to lead its investment banking division starting February 2027.

Barclays has named Mike Joo and Adeel Khan as co-chief executives of its investment banking division, effective February 2027 pending regulatory approval. Joo, currently co-head of global investment banking at Bank of America, will join Barclays after nearly two decades at the US lender, where he held senior roles in corporate banking and global markets.

Khan, a 25-year industry veteran, has been with Barclays since 2008 and currently oversees the bank’s global markets business. He has served as co-head of the investment bank since 2021 and sits on the group executive committee, reporting directly to CEO C. S. Venkatakrishnan. The appointments follow Barclays’ ongoing leadership restructuring in its investment banking unit.
