Sam Bankman-Fried files clemency petition with Justice Department
Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of collapsed crypto exchange FTX, has formally applied for a presidential pardon from President Donald Trump.
He is currently serving a 25-year sentence for fraud and conspiracy.
The clemency petition is listed as pending with the Justice Department’s Office of the Pardon Attorney.
Bankman-Fried is also pursuing an appeal of his conviction.
