Bank of Japan targets 2 percent price stability
The Bank of Japan conducted monetary policy to achieve a 2 percent price stability target.
The policy guided the short-term interest rate, with the uncollateralized overnight call rate set at around 0.5 percent until December 2025.
The Bank then adjusted the rate to 0.75 percent and reduced Japanese government bond purchases by 400 billion yen per quarter until January-March 2026, and by 200 billion yen per quarter from April-June 2026.
