Bank Indonesia hikes rate to 5.25%
Bank Indonesia surprised markets with a 50bp rate hike to 5.25%.
The rate hike aims to stabilize the Rupiah.
The central bank also intensified FX interventions and improved monetary tools to keep inflation within the 1.5–3.5% target.
