The acquisition marks Autodesk’s largest deal, aiming to integrate operational data into AI-driven infrastructure decision-making.
Autodesk will acquire MaintainX, a maintenance and operations software provider, for $3.6 billion in cash. The deal is the largest in Autodesk’s history and targets expansion into asset management and operational data analytics.
MaintainX, expected to generate over $135 million in annualized recurring revenue by 2026, serves factory and facility teams with work order tracking and asset data tools. Autodesk plans to fund the purchase with $1.6 billion in cash and additional borrowing.
The acquisition will create a new division, Autodesk Operations Solutions, combining MaintainX with existing platforms like Fusion Operations and Tandem. The move aims to bridge design and operational teams, leveraging field data for AI-driven infrastructure insights.
