Situational Awareness, the $13.7 billion fund led by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, has acquired a 5.6% stake in Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) via 12.4 million shares. The purchase, disclosed in a recent SEC 13G filing, reflects the fund’s strategy targeting AI data center infrastructure providers.

The move mirrors Aschenbrenner’s existing positions in neocloud peers Iren (NASDAQ: IREN) and CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV). Iren, a repurposed Bitcoin miner, secured a $9.7 billion capacity deal with Microsoft and $5.5 billion in Nvidia agreements. CoreWeave, meanwhile, holds a $99 billion backlog serving hyperscalers like OpenAI and Meta.

Nebius completes the fund’s exposure to neoclouds, which specialize in AI workload management and benefit from surging demand for physical infrastructure.
