Central bank poll shows analysts now expect higher inflation and slower economic expansion in 2026 amid persistent macroeconomic challenges.

Analysts in Argentina’s latest central bank survey revised upward their 2026 inflation forecast to 60%, up from the previous estimate of 55%. The adjustment reflects growing concerns over persistent price pressures and fiscal instability in the medium term.

The same poll trimmed the 2026 GDP growth outlook to 2.5% from 2.8%, citing weaker-than-expected domestic demand and external headwinds. Earlier projections for 2025 remained largely unchanged, underscoring a cautious shift in expectations for the following year.

Markets are monitoring the revisions as policymakers weigh further adjustments to monetary and fiscal strategies to stabilize the economy.
