Archer Aviation expands into aerospace and defense with Boeing subsidiaries adding over $200 million in annual revenue.
Archer Aviation Inc. (ACHR) agreed to acquire three Boeing (BA) subsidiaries—Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu—bolstering its aerospace and defense operations. The deal adds a profitable defense business generating more than $200 million in annual revenue across 35 countries.
The transaction broadens Archer’s strategy beyond its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) focus, integrating autonomy, AI, and aerospace technologies. The acquired units have logged nearly two million flight hours, providing operational data and experience. Archer plans to merge these capabilities with its ZEE AI foundation model.
Shares of Archer surged 20% following the announcement, reflecting investor optimism about the company’s revenue growth and diversification.
