Applied Nutrition has bought the majority of the assets of US-based sports nutrition manufacturer Nutrablend Group.
In a statement today (1 June), the UK-based sports nutrition business said it paid $16m (£12m) in cash for the acquisition
The deal includes a freehold, “fully fitted-out” production and logistics facility in Buffalo in New York state. The six-acre facility includes five powder filling lines and three stick-pack filling machines, along with an inventory estimated at around $5m. Nutrablend’s two in-house supplement brands, Basic Supplements and GR8 Lifestyle, are also part of the transaction.
London-listed Applied Nutrition said the acquisition “significantly enhances” the group’s footprint in North America. It expects the facility to provide production capacity of up to about $300m of revenue per year in the US. The group said this will support “future customer demand” across its AN and ABE ranges.
