AI firm Anthropic confidentially files for IPO with $65 billion funding round, targeting $1 trillion valuation amid competition with OpenAI and SpaceX.

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind Claude, has confidentially filed for an initial public offering with the SEC, positioning itself for a potential $1 trillion market debut. The company’s latest private funding round valued it at $965 billion, aligning with OpenAI’s expectations but trailing SpaceX’s $2 trillion valuation.

The filing precedes OpenAI’s unannounced IPO plans and follows SpaceX’s recent trading debut. Anthropic’s S-1 filing, expected to detail revenue, losses, and growth metrics, will be released at least 15 days before its roadshow. Market conditions will dictate the timing of the offering.

Anthropic’s Claude trails competitors like ChatGPT and Gemini, but its IPO could intensify the race among AI firms to capture investor interest in the sector.
