The global payments arm of Ant Group raises $1.2bn to expand digital payment and financial services for merchants and enterprises.

Ant International, the global business unit of Ant Group, has raised approximately $1.2bn in a Series A equity financing round. Existing investors, including Ant Group and Alibaba Group, participated, alongside other international institutions. The company did not disclose individual investment amounts.

Prior to the funding, Ant International was valued at $10bn. The company, which operates independently as of 2024, provides digital payment, financial technologies, and merchant services across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. It serves over 150 million merchants and 2 billion user accounts through its four business lines.

Proceeds will accelerate global expansion and product development, focusing on merchant payments, account management, and financial services for SMEs and enterprises. Recent initiatives include integrating Alipay+ with Argentina’s national QR payment system, enabling cross-border transactions for international travelers.
