Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund posted a 50.34% Q2 return, driven by semiconductor and AI infrastructure exposure.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) led gains in the Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund’s second-quarter 2026 performance, as the fund’s Institutional Class shares surged 50.34%. The rally outpaced the MSCI World Information Technology Index’s 33.65% gain, fueled by strong stock selection in semiconductors and AI-driven demand for servers and networking equipment.

AI infrastructure spending and easing geopolitical concerns lifted technology stocks, while off-benchmark allocations to electrical equipment also contributed. The fund’s strategy focuses on 50–75 undervalued tech companies, using bottom-up GARP research to identify growth opportunities amid broadening earnings and cloud consumption trends.

Despite risks from geopolitical uncertainty and high interest rates, the fund expects sustained AI and data-center investment to support semiconductor demand. AMD’s role in the AI server CPU market was a key driver of the fund’s outperformance.
