Advanced Micro Devices posted a 38% year-over-year revenue increase to $10.3 billion in the first quarter, driven by strong demand for its EPYC server CPUs and Instinct AI GPUs. Data center segment revenue surged 57% to $5.8 billion, reflecting robust adoption in AI infrastructure and traditional server computing.
The company revised its server CPU total addressable market forecast upward, now expecting over 35% annual growth and a $120 billion market by 2030. This marks a significant increase from the previously anticipated 18% growth over the next three to five years. AMD also guided for server CPU revenue to rise more than 70% year-over-year in the second quarter.
Management highlighted growing demand for CPUs in agentic AI workloads, head nodes managing GPUs, and AI accelerators, positioning AMD as a key player in the evolving AI infrastructure landscape.
