AMC Entertainment Holdings reported second-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $0.14, surpassing Wall Street’s expectation of a $0.02 loss. Revenue climbed 14.2% year over year to a record $1.60 billion, exceeding the $1.47 billion consensus estimate.
The quarter marked the company’s highest revenue and adjusted EBITDA in its 106-year history. Adjusted EBITDA rose 69.6% to $321.4 million, while adjusted net earnings reached $104.3 million, compared with a $0.5 million loss a year earlier. Six films generated domestic opening weekend receipts over $75 million during the quarter.
Shares jumped 11% following the release, reflecting investor optimism over the strong box office performance and operational leverage.
