Amazon reported second-quarter revenue of $200 billion, up 20% year over year and surpassing the $196.47 billion consensus estimate. The company’s cloud computing segment posted its fastest growth in 18 quarters, driving operating income to $27.46 billion, well above the $23.57 billion forecast.

Earnings per share rose 242% to $5.75, though results included $53.4 billion in non-operating gains from its Anthropic investment. Lower expenses, including $600 million in tariff refunds, also bolstered operating income.

Shares jumped 10% to $258 in after-hours trading, reaching their highest level since early June, as CEO Andy Jassy outlined AI investment returns.
