The airline reported adjusted earnings above expectations, reversing a year-ago loss as revenue rose.
Air Canada posted second-quarter adjusted earnings of $0.29 per share, surpassing the $0.11 estimate. The result marked a turnaround from a $0.43 per-share loss in the same period last year.
Revenue also exceeded forecasts, driven by stronger travel demand and operational improvements. Analysts had anticipated a smaller profit after the airline’s prior-year decline.
Shares showed modest gains in pre-market trading following the release.
