U.S. private-sector hiring slowed in the latest weekly ADP tracker, missing prior levels amid high-frequency labor market monitoring.
U.S. private-sector employment rose by 35.75K in the latest weekly ADP NER Pulse report, down from a revised 42.25K the prior week. The figure reflects a seasonally adjusted four-week moving average, designed to smooth short-term volatility in the labor market.
The NER Pulse, launched in 2025, complements the monthly ADP National Employment Report by providing weekly updates on hiring trends. It draws from anonymized payroll data covering 26 million workers, or roughly one-sixth of the U.S. private sector, and aims to capture real-time shifts driven by AI, demographics, and business cycles.
The report is published every Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. ET, except during weeks when the monthly ADP report is released, and includes 12 weeks of historical data for trend analysis.
