Nuclear reactor developer Oklo adjusts timeline for Aurora powerhouse deployment, pushing commercial revenue beyond 2027 targets.
Oklo reported its first $1.2 million in revenue in August, primarily from services, alongside achieving first criticality at its Groves test reactor in Texas. The milestone marks operational progress but falls short of commercial power generation, the company’s core product.
The Aurora-INL powerhouse, slated for Idaho National Laboratory, was initially projected to begin commercial operation in late 2027 or early 2028. Recent filings revised this to an “ambitious target of deploying our first powerhouse in 2028,” removing earlier timelines and signaling delays.
Oklo’s valuation hinges on the timeline for commercial power revenue, which now appears unlikely before 2028. The company’s stock performance may reflect investor sentiment on execution risks as it transitions from testing to commercial deployment.
