Berkshire Hathaway expanded its Alphabet (GOOG) position by 83% to 106 million shares, now worth $38 billion, making it the firm’s third-largest equity holding. The move follows the second 13F filing under CEO Greg Abel’s tenure and reflects a significant bet on Google’s parent company.

Alphabet has held a nearly 4% stake in SpaceX since 2015, valued at $94 billion as of June 30. Berkshire’s proportional ownership of Alphabet translates to indirect exposure to SpaceX, despite Buffett never directly investing in Elon Musk’s ventures. The position ranks behind only Apple (AAPL) and American Express (AXP) in Berkshire’s portfolio.

The filing reveals no direct market reaction, but the expanded Alphabet stake underscores Buffett’s confidence in tech giants amid broader sector shifts.
