Two newly public quantum computing companies, Quantinuum and Infleqtion, will release their first earnings reports this week. Quantinuum, which spun off from Honeywell in 2021 and went public in June, reports after Tuesday’s market close. Infleqtion, which debuted via a SPAC merger in February, follows on Wednesday.

The reports come as quantum computing transitions from theoretical research to a market with real-world applications. Investors will assess demand for the technology, which promises to solve complex calculations beyond classical computers’ capabilities. Both companies represent different approaches within the sector.

Semiconductor and industrial stocks led early trading in the S&P 500, while broader markets wavered amid subdued oil prices and Middle East geopolitical developments.
