Casual-dining chain BJ’s Restaurants reports eight straight quarters of sales and traffic growth, driven by menu innovation and marketing shifts.

BJ’s Restaurants reported a 6.5% increase in same-store sales for the second quarter, fueled by an 8.3% rise in traffic. The company’s performance marks its eighth consecutive quarter of growth in both metrics, outpacing peers in the casual-dining sector.

The gains were attributed to a revamped marketing strategy and menu innovations, including the Biscoff Pizookie, which doubled purchases year-over-year. Executives highlighted plans to introduce a premium tier of the Pizookie meal deal to boost average ticket sizes and customer engagement.

CEO Lyle Tick noted the company’s strong momentum entering Q3, citing outperformance against Black Box casual dining benchmarks. The focus remains on expanding sandwich and burger offerings to sustain growth.
